In ALL THE WAY TO BERLIN Lt. Megallas mentions that he carried both a Thompson submachine gun and a Springfield sniper rifle? Was it common to carry two personal weapons (other than a rifle or smg and a sidearm)? Was Megallas talking literally or did he swap weapons sometimes with his platoon sniper?

Stuay,
His wife is a member here you can email her through the page. I know she will ask him and reply. I spoke to Fred Baldino about this and he told me that in his rifle company he was assigned what he was assigned. However my dad in Hq1 and then HQ, HQ seemed to have the ability to change around he had a M1 Carbine, a Tommy Gun and finally stayed with the M1 Rifle.
One of his pals had a carbine that he traded with an air crew guy for a Tommy Gun. Don't ask me how that worked out but before combat I think you could do things like that.

JIm

Sometimes I read of someone's death and it reminds me I had no idea he was the one who did it(invented the "Mae West") nor that such man was still around.
Andrew Toti,89, who invented the "Mae West" flotation device died the other day.
I read of it here in the Tuscon paper where yesterday it was sunny and 78.
(Yes I am rubbing it in to my fellow Blue Coasters. )

Jimmy,
Stop rubbing it in! Rain and 40 degrees today in the Peoples Republic!
Thanks for the Mae West factoid.

Jim

Jim,
Not to worry I'm back on the Blue Coast where it is winter 10 out of 12 months.
Damn it, I knew we should have signed that Kato Kalin treaty to stop global warning.
Wait a minute that doesn't make sense. Well, what does that matter?

Hey no fond memories of Johnny Cochran's demise?
If the heart quits.................................................... you do end it!

If the heart quits,
put on the white mits,
to carryy the box,
which contains Mr. Gotrocks.
Word is OJ is calling a press conference to announce he finally found the real killer
and, as I thought, it was Johnny Cochran all along.

Ah! Then it must be Buenavista, Mehico.
An excellant choice! Oppressive heat; disease carrying mosquitos; banditos pistolaros all over the place and they're the ones on the police force.

Banditos pistolaros on the Police Force? Do they take lateral transfers?

After every game he would sing that song..
"though we never thought we would loose, there's no regrets, if I had to do the same again, I would my pitcher, Fernando..."
